Smeg launches Italian inspired kitchen appliances

Smeg, the renowned Italian manufacturer of luxury kitchen appliances, is set to launch the latest addition to its range cooker collection; the stunning Portofino.

Smeg’s freshest design yet, the Portofino will come in eight colour-pop finishes: sunshine yellow, olive green, deep red, burnt orange and classic stainless steel, anthracite, black and white. Each design representing the bright shades of towns and villages along the Italian Riviera. The range offers a fantastic way of introducing colour in the kitchen. Measuring 90cm wide, the Portofino neatly fits into the kitchen creating a dramatic focal point.

Inspired by the rich tones of the Italian Riviera, meet Smeg’s freshest design yet, perfect for contemporary living.

Portofino is the brands most technically advanced range cooker with five cooking levels and 12 different functions – including time defrost, rising and Sabbath – the Portofino boasts an A+ energy rating and impressive 126 litre capacity (gross). There are three fans inside the main oven cavity, ensuring excellent performance and the very best baking results every time – no other range cooker on the market offers this.

Closed door grilling and air cooling systems are complemented by an easy-clean enamel interior, ensuring endless hours are not spent scrubbing the internal cavity. This is further enhanced by a Pyrolytic and eco Pyrolytic clean function. The large oven cavity is very well illuminated with four 40w halogen bulbs. On the exterior, large, professional style controls, a soft-close door, an LCD display screen boasting 20 automatic programmes, signature Smeg branding and a lower storage drawer complete the look.

A passion for cooking deserves an outstanding cooker blending practicality and style.

Above the main oven lies a six-burner hob. With sturdy cast iron pan stands, burners vary between an ultra-rapid 4.20 kW and a smaller 1.00 kW to suit different cooking methods. There is even a cast iron wok support for those who like to flash fry foods and generate some real heat in the kitchen. Customers also have the option of models with induction hobs should they prefer. Furthermore, each Portofino includes two chrome shelves, grill mesh, two extra deep trays, rotisserie, cast iron wok support and partial telescopic shelves. Complementary cooker hoods are also available to complete the look.

The Portofino will launch following a monumental year for Smeg, which has seen the iconic Italian appliance brand move to a state-of-the-art new UK HQ in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, unveil its prestigious Dolce Stil Novo product line and collaboration with likeminded Italian fashion powerhouse Dolce & Gabbana on a limited-edition collection of fridges and later this year it is set to open its first ever retail space in St James Square, London.

Speak to our kitchen specialists about installing Smeg appliances in your kitchen. Prices start from £2,399 for the gas hob version and £2,899 for the induction hob version. Matching hoods £599. Further information on Smeg can be found at www.smeguk.com.
